Long working hours.  Highs above 90 forecasted for the next two weeks.  Shrinkflation at the grocery store.  Gas prices!!  Just when we think we have enough things to stress about, something else gets piled onto our plate.  But while it seems like there’s nothing we can do to combat the growing list of stressors in our lives, there are things we can try to at least lessen the symptoms of stress.  Take a deep breath, and consider trying one of the following options.

Meditation Apps

Think you don’t have time to meditate?  Think again!  If you can steal 9 minutes for yourself while the pasta boils, you can give meditation a try.  And what better way to learn things today than through a mobile phone app?  The New York Times picked 3 meditation apps that reviewers felt offered the best content, helpful tools, good user interfaces, and clear guidance through your meditation journey.  We’re leaning towards Calm for the “ambient soundscapes”.  We’re not sure what those are, but we want to try one!

Reach Out to a Friend

There’s nothing like laughing over an inside joke with an old friend.  With all of the social distancing we’ve been through in the last few years, we may not realize how long it’s been since we’ve spoken to our dearest friends.  Pick up the phone.  Sit yourself down.  Take a trip down a few memory lanes, or just complain a bit to someone who loves you no matter what.

Forest Bathing

Yeah, it’s hot – but when it’s not – pick one of our fabulous nearby State Parks and give Forest Bathing a try.  Time spent out in nature is good for us, we all know this.  For an even more beneficial experience, try adding a bit of conscious connection to your next walk or hike – perhaps aided by your new meditation app?  There’s no right or wrong way to try forest bathing, and you don’t even need a forest.  Just pick a lovely spot, open up to the sights, sounds, and smells of nature, and see where an open mind takes you.

Insure with the People you Trust

Don’t let your insurance sit on your list of stressors.  When you’re worried about your coverages or your bill, just give your favorite Agent a call at 573-442-1105.  Ask us questions, pose hypotheticals, tell us a corny joke – whatever you need to do!  We’re here for you with a wide range of companies and products to find the best fits for your insurance needs.  We also really love a good corny joke.
