Renting a car for your next vacation or weekend get-away? If you have Comprehensive and Collision coverages on your Auto Insurance, it will most likely carry over to your rental car, unless you’re renting outside of the United States. In that case, you may need to purchase insurance in the country you’re visiting.

But what about the rental you’re not planning – the one you need when you’re in an accident and you can’t drive your own car?  Your insurance policy may offer Rental Reimbursement if you have Comprehensive and Collision coverage and have a covered loss.  The minimum coverage is typically $40 per day for most of our companies, and while that may have been adequate a few years ago when you bought your insurance policy, $40 per day might not even cover half of the charge for a sedan today.  And what if you require a larger, more expensive vehicle for your family’s needs?

The good news is that Rental Reimbursement is pretty reasonable, and increasing your limits to $40, $50, or more per day shouldn’t make a significant difference in your premium.  Where it will make a difference is when you need it to get yourself back on the road after a covered loss.

Give us a call at 573-442-1105 and ask for a quick review of your Rental Reimbursement coverage today.  A few minutes now could save you a whole lot of frustration in the future!
